Now you’ve entered into new motherhood. Go slow and recover, get taken care of, bond with your baby. All of this is hard work so let us take care of you by helping you unwind your tight neck and back. We speed up the healing process and reduce inflammation with a gentle alignment and massage to the areas that need it most.

  • Alignment

    Gentle yet effective chiropractic alignment for your spine and pelvis. Your pelvis typically benefits from an alignment after birthing your baby. After all, this is the most your pelvis has ever moved before! By aligning your pelvis after birth, most mamas find that they feel better in their bodies and can withstand the demands of newborn care better. Your neck, shoulders and wrists can find relief from an adjustment due to repetitive breastfeeding, holding and carrying.

  • Womb Massage

    A.K.A. - Mercier Therapy, is a type of gynovisceral massage that can help you address any tight tissue areas and swelling from either a vaginal or cesarean birth. This therapy is especially wonderful for scar tissue (present in 95% vaginal births), and brings mobility and bloodflow to the uterus and bladder. Mercier Therapy is gentle work that is done externally and helps moves swelling and trapped fluid. It is a great way to reconnect with “down there” after you have a baby. (Done after 6-8 weeks postpartum)

  • Healing Mat

FAQs

Can I bring my baby?

Yes! There is time during our session for a brief nursing session. Bringing a partner or helper to hang out with your baby works great to help you relax, but you are also welcome to bring in your stroller or carseat and have your baby present during our session.

Why does a mom need care after birth?

Many people do not realize how physically demanding taking care of a newborn can be. The average amount of hours per day a new mom is breastfeeding is about 10 times per day! Not to mention all the holding, carrying, rocking, swaddling, and lifting of car seats. The list goes on, a lot of the time there are tight muscles and pain that result from birth which is then compounded by all the new physical demands of newborn care. When moms body is stressed, mom is stressed. Getting bodily care can help alleviate the intensity of the new parent experience.

What can I do at home to keep the healing going?

Hydrating is a full time job while breastfeeding. Asking your partner or helper to help monitor and provide your hydration is a great way to help your cells continue to heal and help with your milk supply.

Remember that self care helps you AND your baby. It helps you stay calm and can regulate your nervous system. Try to take some deep breaths, get sunshine and fresh air while tackling the newborn phase.

Let people help you! Sometimes it’s hard to accept help, but this is the time to say yes and not be afraid to ask for help. And this is also the time to say “no” to anything you don’t have energy for or don’t want to do.

These specialties woven together help in the postpartum healing process by addressing both the alignment and imbalanced muscles of the spine and of the pelvis. Harnessing her decade of chiropractic knowledge and expertise in Reiki energy healing, Dr. Jenny offers comprehensive and trauma informed support. Her main goal for any postpartum body reset session is to promote relaxation and alleviate stress in the bodymind so that the work of caring for your baby and yourself gets easier.
