Mercier Therapy
An all natural fertility approach to assist with conception and IVF
Studies on Mercier Therapy show an 83% success rate as a stand alone therapy, and an 87.7% success rate in conjunction with IVF.
HOW IT WORKS
Mercier Therapy (pronounced Mercy-A) can help you become pregnant by promoting blood flow and mobility to your reproductive anatomy. This process involves a specialized program of care that includes gentle external gynovisceral massages targeted towards the womb and its surrounding tissues. By administering these massages, the aim is to promote mobility and blood flow.
Blood delivers nutrients and oxygen to tissues, supporting optimal function of the uterus and ovaries.

Mercier Therapy
can help
with multiple fertility issues
Unexplained Infertility
Approximately 60% of infertility cases are labeled as diagnosed as "unexplained." Massaging areas of the pelvis that have tight tissues or restricted movement can greatly improve blood flow and the uterus's movement. Promoting this can significantly enhance its function.
IVF Preparation
Dr. Jenny has many patients preparing for IVF. Improving blood flow and addressing tissue adhesions before embryo transfer can increase the chances of success. A 2019 study revealed that using Mercier Therapy alongside IVF resulted in an 87.7% success rate.
Secondary Infertility
Scar tissue or adhesions from previous birth can interfere with uterine function. Mercier therapy can help treat adhesions, improving the chances of future pregnancy. It is beneficial for cesarean recovery and can also be helpful after a vaginal birth as approximately 90% of vaginal births result in some scar tissue.
PCOS
Many women with polycystic ovarian syndrome have found Mercier Therapy helpful for conceiving. This therapy increases blood flow and movement in the pelvic area, promoting healthier ovarian and uterine function through delivery of nutrients and oxygen through the bloodstream.
Endometriosis
Dr. Jennifer Mercier, founder of Mercier Therapy, overcame stage 4 endo with her method, inspiring her to help others conceive by releasing microadhesions of endometriosis for improved bloodflow to the uterus and ovaries.
Fibroids
Fibroid tissue can potentially impede bloodflow to the uterus. By receiving Mercier Therapy, the amount of bloodflow increases to the womb, allowing more oxygen and nutrients to get to the cells. This is a vital part of a successful preganancy.
Mercier Therapy FAQ
How long does it take and what is the cost?
The typical course of therapy entails 6 hours of MT, broken down into 6 one hour sessions typically performed over a period of 4-6 weeks. The amount of care is based on the Mercier Therapy study, which boasts an 83% success rate as a standalone therapy, 87.7% in conjunction with IVF.
The cost of the program is $3,000 for the 6 hours of care and includes coaching on helpful fertility practices including supplement assessment and a variety of holistic recommendations and daily rituals to implement that are tailored to your needs. The program cannot be covered by insurance but can be paid for with a Health savings account (HSA), Flex Spending account (FSA) or credit card.
For those in need of urgent care before an embryo transfer, we can accommodate a shorter timeline. Single sessions of Mercier therapy are available for $575 per session.
What can I expect during a session of
Mercier Therapy?
Traditional massage typically does not include abdominal massage, so the sensation of a massage to your womb and pelvis can be a new experience. Dr. Jenny is excellent at helping your entire body unwind from the beginning of the session by responding to the tissue with her touch . The work is very specific in addressing the areas of your pelvis that have tight or restricted tissue, or organs with lack of mobility. Even after a focused therapy session, numerous patients experience profound relaxation. The calming effects of Mercier Therapy are strong enough that some women have even fallen asleep during the session.
Mercier Therapy is performed while laying on a healing HealthyLine TAJ-Mat™, with ambient music playing and use of specific essential oils. The infrared therapy mat warms the body to a frequency that induces deep relaxation and increased bloodflow. The following day some patients may feel slightly sore in the pelvic region, similar to doing a new abdominal workout.
How do I time Mercier Therapy with my period or IVF cycle?
IVF Cycle timing: We will schedule your session to work around your IVF schedule. The program is best to complete prior to your IVF cycle, but we can continue prior to the egg retrieval stim cycle and before embryo transfer.
Mercier therapy can be done at any time during your cycle with the following excpetions:
If you have endometriosis or suspected endometriosis, we work around your period
If you are on estrogen stimulating medications prior to retrieval, we would aim to complete the program prior to the stim portion of the cycle
If you’ve experienced the difficulty of a miscarriage, it is best to wait until your next cycle
If you have an active pelvic infection (UTI, yeast infection, etc.) we will wait until you are cleared before continuing the program
Kind Words
“I found Dr. Jenny when I learned about Mercier therapy for fertility. After checking out all of the local LA practitioners that offered Mercier, Jenny stood out to me and I’m so thankful I found her! She is very skilled at the deep visceral massage work that Mercier entails and at chiropractic care as well…
As an update to my previous review... I finished Mercier with Jenny in August 2020 and my husband and I conceived a healthy baby in January 2021!.”

“I initially found Dr. Jenny when looking for help with infertility. She is a trained Mercier Therapist which is basically massage and manual movement of the uterus and ovaries… You buy a series of session and while it is expensive it is completely worth every penny.”
— Marie F.
“I just wanted to let you know I had my hysteroscopy yesterday and there’s no scar tissue anymore. My uterus is completely clean and both my tubes are open so hoping this goes well and I’m really excited. Just wanted to thank you again.”

“My husband and I tried to get pregnant for three years. We tried everything from six different acupuncturists to EWG recommended make up and cleaning products. I even tried diet change. Finally, I did Mercier therapy with Dr. Stofer and we got pregnant the month after I finished. We now have a gorgeous baby girl. Mercier Therapy is amazing for getting the circulation going in the pelvic region and clearing blocks to fertility. Dr. Stofer is an amazing, knowledgeable, gentle practitioner.”
